I LOVE SHOPPING!

I usually hate going to the grocery store and draining my checking account with the ridiculous prices that we pay for groceries these days. BUT, I started Coupon Sense again a few weeks ago and today, I came home from the grocery store HAPPY! That doesn't happen often. It doesn't look like a lot of groceries, but wait until you see what I paid! Here's the breakdown:

Gallon Milk- $.99 each (2)
Pillsbury Brownie Mix- $.50 each (6)
Steamfresh Veggies/Rice- FREE (6)
Lawry's Marinade-$.50 (6)
Quaker Mini Cakes-FREE (3)
CapriSun Sunrise-$.77 each (3) -Little secret~if you have a coupon for these, the cashier said it will work with the regular kind as well.
Frosted Mini Wheats 24 oz-$1.37 each (3)
Angel Soft toilet paper-FREE (3 pkg. of 4 rolls)
McCormick seasonings-FREE (3)

I also bought green lettuce for $1.49 not on sale and Kroger veggie spray for $1. Total bill for everything $17.89. Saved $88.34!! I saved $25.50 of that just by using coupons. The rest was from using the Fry's VIP card. I love Fry's. They have wonderful sales, double coupons all the time, send me store coupons in the mail and you can download coupons from their website straight to your VIP card. Its amazing. I got lucky with the milk because it wasn't advertised but they are having their gallon milk $.99 each, limit 2, until Tuesday. If any of you are interested in learning about Coupon Sense, please let me know! I know Wal Mart is cheap sometimes and you can ad match, but they don't double coupons so you won't get the same savings. HAPPY SHOPPING!

Gone Fishin'

Friday afternoon, we headed up to Saguaro Lake with the Boretsky's to do some fishing. They brought along their pontoon boat and after much frustration and laughing, we were finally off to the fishing spot! (can I say, "Kill Switch!!" That was a LOL moment for sure.) Here's a few photos of us having fun!

Cale and Daisy. Engagement picture, maybe?? heehee

Momma and Maylee.

Goofball Daisy. She was so excited to be on that boat!

Skylar and Slade doing a little fishing...

Slade could stay out there fishing forEVER.

He can fish with his eyes closed!

First catch of the day!

Slade's first catch!

And second one...

I caught one too! I always end up with the smallest fish, but I'm happy I at least got one!

He didn't get any kisses from me after that!

Pure trouble. Look at that face.

Waiting for another fish to bite.
We all had a lot of fun! Daisy wouldn't stay still long enough to hold a fishing pole, so she wandered around the boat getting into everything she could. She would give me a heart attack every time she looked over the edge of the boat. I know she would much rather be swimming with the fish and that would be okay if she knew how to swim! Slade enjoyed it so much that he didn't want to leave. I couldn't tell if he enjoyed fishing more, or playing with the night crawlers that were used as bait. What a boy! He had a really good time. Skylar caught several fish which made him happy. We had a lot of fun and can't wait for the next trip!

Maylee's Blessing Photos and Dr's Appts

Maylee had her two month appointment today and weighed in at 8 lbs 13oz (6th percent) and 20.5 inches (1st percent). The doctor was happy she was finally on the charts! Yay! He also felt her belly button and said it will most likely have to be fixed with surgery. That won't happen until she reaches about 1 year but hopefully by then she won't need it. He said she is doing great!

2 month size

Daisy had her two year check up today as well and weighed in at 25 lbs and 33 inches tall. That put her in the 28th percentile for both but she has a head circumference in the 50th %. She had her last shot until Kindergarten and she didn't even cry! She was actually excited to get a poke-poke today and even watched the nurse do it. She is most definitely like her father. Doctor said she looks great!

Maylee's Blessing Photo Shoot
I had a hard time finding a blessing dress to fit her because everything was too big. My mom had made a newborn size dress for her but she disappeared in it! So, we went to Ross and found a women's white dress that she cut up and used a doll size pattern to get it small enough. It turned out beautiful! She also made pantaloons and a slip! That is talent! Maylee decided to sleep during the photo shoot but it did make for some cute pictures! Thanks again, Kendyl!

Twins!?!

Kendyl took this pic and had it on her blog. I looked at it and my first thought was, "hey, who had twins?" Then, I realized it was my Maylee next to the doll Daisy plays with at my mom's house! CRAZY! This was taken about a month ago, so Maylee has grown a little bit.

Happy 2nd Birthday Daisy!

One year ago...

And now! Our sweet Daisy celebrated her 2nd birthday yesterday! She has grown up too quickly the past two years. Born 6 weeks early, she was so tiny! Its hard to believe that she is now 2 going on 20. She enjoys dolls, books, dress up clothes, Tinkerbell, food, pretty hair clips, flowers, dresses, pretty shoes, painting her toenails, playing outside, walks and laughing. She is quite mischievous and keeps us on our toes. She has a very short attention span and she is soft spoken, literally, and we are constantly telling her to talk louder so people can hear her. She loves singing primary songs and the abc's. She can even count to 13 and knows her colors! She is such a fun little girl and we LOVE having her as a part of our family. We love you Daisy!
