Tonto Natural Bridge

On Saturday, Skylar took me and the kids to the Tonto Natural Bridge. It is a beautiful place! This is a picture looking up at the actual waterfall. Those of you who have not been here should take a day trip and go! There are picnic tables and lots of grass, bathrooms, water fountains and 'viewpoints' if you don't want to hike down the trails.

That little blue person is Skylar and Slade hiking to the back of the waterfall. It really is huge!

This is a picture from behind the waterfall. There is a pool of water, but you are not allowed to swim or play in it.

I packed Daisy on my back. I forgot her hat, so I had to cover her with her blanket when we were in the sun. I had her on my front, but the trail is steep and I couldn't see where I was walking so I had to switch her to the back. My ponytail kept hitting her face and she finally just grabbed onto it and held on pretty tight!

Me and Daisy again. I am trying to climb up the rocks to where Skylar is. It was slippery! People probably thought we were crazy packing kids, but oh well!

Our cute little family. Slade thought he was pretty cool sitting back there. He loved it! Skylar wants me to tell all of you that he really doesn't have a gut. His shirt was just 'poofy' from the strap:) I'll admit that I look fat:)

Wedding Tag

1. Where did you meet your husband?
My family moved to Queen Creek in 2003 and we moved into his family ward. He was on his mission at the time. When he got back, our families had a fhe together and I met him there. He wouldn't even talk to me!

2.What was the first thing you said to your husband?
I believe it was like, "nice to mee you." I really can't remember.

3.Where was your first date?
It was New Years Eve and we went to a party with Kayci and her husband and ended up in their luv sac at their house watching Italian Job.

4.Where was your first kiss?
On the luv sac on our first date! He had been trying to hold my hand the whole night! It was pretty funny...

5.Did you have a long or short engagement?
Short! We were engaged May 1st and married June 10th.

6.Where did you get engaged?
He took my flying (his friend was the pilot) and we flew over our houses and on the roof of his house, he had put 'Kari will you marry me' in huge letters. It was so awesome!

7.Where were you married?
Mesa Temple

8.How did the reception go?
Great! Lots of people came and it was pretty much a blur. We danced and did the garter thing but didn't have time to cut the cake!

9.How was the honeymoon?
Fun! The night we got married we went to the Wyndam Buttes Hotel and had a really nice breakfast and then we went to a cabin in Heber for the weekend and went fishing, quad riding and all that good stuff.

Okay, Slade and his cousin Kleven took a bath at Grandma's house and decided to run away before the diapers could be put on. Apparently they were hungry and its a good thing this picture turned out blurry!!

I was hoping this tagging thing wouldn't get to me, but thank you Katie! I've been thinking really hard of 7 things so here they are... 1. I really do like to work out. Even if I don't look like it, I love how I feel after a really hard workout. By the way, I just started a workout boot camp on Saturday mornings with my sister in-law. It has been so good for me. I try to run on my treadmill throughout the week so I won't be as sore after the Saturday workouts. 2. I like having c-sections. Okay that sounds crazy but it's really not that bad. I had an emergency c-section with Slade and a scheduled one (kind of) with Daisy and right after Daisy's, I was ready to do it again. Of course its scary during the surgery, being awake and feeling everything(no pain, just pulling and tugging), but I'm okay with the fact that I don't have to push. 3. I recently got glasses. I only wear them when I drive, watch tv and read books. Otherwise I hate them. I think they make my eyes look big. 4. I was a dental assistant for 3 years. I really enjoyed working in that environment and would go back if I had to. I really want to be a dental hygienist, but your not allowed to get pregnant while in school and I wanted to be a mom more than anything. 5. I cannot pee in the woods. I think I have some kind of phobia about that. My husband is an avid hunter/camper and since we've been married we've had to haul a camp trailer with us just for the bathroom. Now that we have little ones, I pick and choose what camping trips I go on and I think my husband secretly hopes I don't come for the fact of hauling the trailer. By the way, its from the 60's and falling apart. Its not fun for him to have to fix it after every trip :) 6. I allowed my husband to have a rattlesnake as a pet for almost a year! I think that's really not allowed, but oh well. He found it at a work site one day and brought it home. I even watched it each mice. Right after we had Slade, Fluffy, (yeah the snake was named Fluffy) was put outside in the heat and forgot about for a day and became bloated and died. Too bad! He was in a glass tank thing and it got too hot. 7. I love airplanes. I used to go to the air shows when they were out at Williams Gateway. I could seriously sit outside that airport and watch them all day long. When I drive by that airport, I almost always hit the curb, or go in the other lane because I'm trying to look at all the aircrafts. I tag Kayci. Haha

Slade was playing with my stability ball and rolled into the outlet and broke it with his head. He cried for a second or two and then was fine. He wanted to take pictures as soon as I got the camera out. He seriously has the hardest head ever!

I came across this picture of Slade when he was six months old and thought it looked a lot like Daisy. What do you think? Slade was 5 lbs heavier at 4 months than Daisy is right now. We went to the doctor today and she weighed in at 13 lbs 14 oz. Slade came in at 25 lbs and 14 oz. He was 20 lbs when he was six months old, so he is finally getting taller and losing a lot of his fat rolls. I'm glad Daisy isn't so heavy. It was a lot of work lugging Slade around.

Slade's new favorite noise is blowing on his arm to make a fart noise. After he does it, he says "I toot!" It's really funny.

Slade loves everything boy. We went to Sunrise for an archery tournament over 4th of July weekend and Skylar went fishing and brought back some for dinner. Slade thought it was pretty cool. He loves to be outside and Skylar can't wait untl he is old enough to go hunting with him.

I love telling people about my kids, so here is the story of how Daisy was brought into this world. On April 1st, my water broke at 3:40am and so we headed to the hospital. I had a scheduled c-section at Mercy Gilbert on May 8th, so we went to that hospital. I was taken back to triage and examined and given meds to stop contractions and given a steriod shot in my butt to help the baby's lungs develop. It was determined that I would be transported to Chandler Regional because I was only 33 weeks and six days and Mercy was only prepared to handle baby's that were 34 weeks. So I was transported to Chandler via ambulance and was placed in a nice big room. I was told that the baby had about 95% chance of living if born at 34 weeks so the doctors decided to keep me pregnant until I was 34 weeks which was just two days away. I was given another steriod shot in my butt and wasn't allowed to get out of bed unless I had to use the restroom. I did talk the nurses into letting me take a shower but I couldn't be on my feet for more that 20 minutes. OnTuesday I was 34 weeks and given the decision to either have the baby via c-section or wait to go into full blown labor and try a v-back.(I had c-section with Slade) So, I really wanted to try v-back but the doctor said it could take a week or two to be in full blown labor so Skylar and I decided to just have her that day. She was born at 1:57pm on Tuesday April 3rd. She weighed in at 4 lbs 14 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. She came out crying and didn't have any problems with breathing at all! She wasn't able to maintain her body temperature and blood sugar was low. She was in the 'special care' until for a couple of days and then allowed to be in my room. On Friday the doctor came in and told me that if she gained weight by Saturday morning, we could take her home. At this point she weighed 4 lbs 5oz, so I kept her in my room all night and woke her up every two hours to feed her. In the morning she was weighed and she had gained 3 oz! So we took her home with us! During the whole pregnancy I had been trying to come up with a name that Skylar and I both liked but we didn't have one until right before she was born. We had a student nurse named Daija so I suggested to Skylar Daisy. He had been writing some names down before I said Daisy and he handed me his paper with names and he had written down Daisy. So we named her Daisy Lynn Stock. She has been a tremendous blessing to our family.
