First Bite, Father's Day and Taco Tongue

I was given the okay to start Maylee on rice cereal and she didn't want anything to do with it!

My brother recently came home from his mission and he spoke in church on Father's Day. Skylar originally had to work all day but was able to take a few hours off to go listen to my brothers talk, so we were able to have daddy home for a little while! While we let him sleep in, the kids made a card for him. Slade wrote the letters all by himself! He is growing up too fast! Gottta love Daisy's '80s headband too.

Slade is such a good big brother. He loves to play with Maylee and enjoys when she "gets" him.

Maylee has been rolling over for about a month and a half now, and I was finally able to catch her in the process.

Goofball Slade! He keeps us very entertained!

His new trick!! Taco Tongue!

He's HOME!

My brother Bryan served a two year mission in Sydney, Australia, Mandarin Chinese speaking and he came home today!! My family met at the airport with our signs and waited for him to arrive...

We are grateful for his service and example but we are SO excited to have him home! He has a little accent which is really cute. I can't wait to spend more time with him and for my kids to get to know him. Anyone know of some cute single girls out there, send them his way!

5 Years!

Skylar and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary on the 10th! These past 5 years have really gone by fast. I guess having three kids does that... We weren't able to go out on our anniversary this year because Skylar worked! I actually haven't seen him for more than a few hours the last seven days. Its okay because we have Eternity together. He was able to get home early enough yesterday to take me to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner. We love that place because its very similar to Texas Roadhouse but without all the people, so no waiting!
It was kind of an interesting day, yesterday...it started out like this:
Slade ran into my room yelling, "Mom! Mom! Daisy is doing something!!"
I, was still asleep! The kids usually come into my room when they wake up (6:30am). Not this morning. I hadn't even heard them out there!
I jumped out of bed and asked, "What?! What is she doing Slade?"
"She peed on the counter!" Is what he told me.
So I run out to the kitchen and I find that the TV was on, the computer was on and Slade was playing games on pbskids.org. Daisy was sitting on the counter and had peed! I also saw that she was holding some medications in her hands. We have our medicine in a cabinet in the kitchen, up high, away from kids, so we thought. She was holding a wrapper from a cough drop and had little tin foil pieces next to her. I realized she was holding adult Benadryl tablets so I asked her if she ate one and she said, "Yeah, I don't like it!" Oh my heck! So then Slade tells me that she ate a cough drop too. She said it was yucky. I throw her in the shower because of the pee. (Shower #1) I then call Skylar, who was at work, and asked him if he thought I needed to take her in because of the medicine she ate. He told me to call Poison Control, so I did and the nice lady reassured me that the amount she ate was not toxic to her. At this point, Daisy was laying on the couch, falling asleep! The lady told me to check on her every 15 minutes and to tickle her foot to make sure she can still move. What?! So, I did. She slept for 2 1/2 hours and woke up a happy little girl.
Funny thing, while she was sleeping, I was able to clean pretty much my whole house. Maylee takes good naps and Slade entertains himself very well, so I took advantage of that!
I was showering and I turn around to find Daisy in there with me! I didn't hear her! (Shower #2)
Skylar had called while I was finishing up my hair, so I ran to get the phone in the kitchen. Just a few minutes later I hear Daisy calling me from her bathroom needing help. She is now potty-trained but requires help sometimes. I go in there to find her on the toilet, but she has big globs of some kind of white substance in her hair and she had it streaked all over her. I touched it with caution, not knowing what it was, but I could smell it and realized it was my pomade!! (Shower #3)
With all of the showers Daisy had, the cleaning and the running around getting kids ready, I was exhausted while sitting in the car on the way to my parents house to drop off the kids. My back hurt and my eyes were a little droopy and I was trying not to fall asleep. I looked over at Skylar and saw that he looked the same as how I felt. He had been working non-stop for a week doing a side job and his regular job. Maylee was screaming and the other two were being just as loud. I started laughing to myself. Here we are, only being married 5 years with three kids and just plain exhausted from life at this moment. Its funny how fast life seems to flash by. Its those moments that make me realize how truly grateful I am for Skylar and his willingness to show his appreciation to me.
I have really enjoyed the past 5 years of my life. Skylar has brought me so much happiness. We enjoy laughing with each other over silly things and I am happy I chose him to grow old with.
Can't wait to see what the next 5 years has in store for us!

Miss Maylee is 4 months old!

I love this picture! I need to take a picture of her next to the football for comparison and will post that later. She had her 4 month well check today and the results are in! She weighs 10 lbs 12 oz! That puts her in the 3rd percentile, yippee! She is 23 1/4 inches long (16th percentile!) and her head circumference is 14 1/2 inches (11th percentile). Every appointment I take her to, the doctor says, "Don't worry, she's just petite." The good news is that the doctor said there is no evidence of a herniated belly button anymore which means no surgery! We are very grateful for that.
Maylee is so much fun to have around! She can roll over and smiles all the time. She watches cartoons with Slade and Daisy and loves when they smother her with kisses. She is finally wearing newborn size clothes so hopefully her wardrobe will start getting cuter. Her head is still too small for most headbands and the ones that do fit her, she pulls off anyway. She sleeps through the night and takes a very nice long nap during the day.
