Baby Update #3

So, here's my belly at 19 weeks!

And for the big news.....we are having a GIRL!!! We are so excited! Okay, maybe I am a little more excited than Skylar at this point but he says he is happy about it! He also said that he has always thought it was going to be a girl so he wasn't surprised. The first thing he said was, "that just means more hunting trips for me!" I'll know when he's had enough girl drama when he all of a sudden has a hunting trip to go on! I also told him that he is free to go just as long as he takes Slade! Poor guy, he's going to be playing with babies and barbies for a while! For me, I was very surprised because my gut feeling was that it was a boy! My sickness was a lot more similar to Slade's pregnancy than Daisy's and I just knew that it was a boy. Strange how that works out. She is doing good although she is measuring a couple weeks small, there is no concern at this point. Her heart was beating strong and I've been feeling her a lot more lately. The DR looked at her measurements and said she is measuring like a model! Haha! She has a tiny waist and long legs so far but we all know that won't be reality :)

I am however finding it very hard to think of girl names. Many of you may know that Skylar is extremely picky on names. It's almost annoying. He does not like unisex names, names that rhyme with words that the child can be made fun of, no patterns, and so many other rules. So, if anyone has an idea, please pass it along! Slade and Daisy were both named the day they were born and after much consideration.

My New Do and Sibling Love

So, I cut my hair! I tried looking for a 'before' picture, but couldn't find one! I guess I'm always behind the camera. Anyway, it used to be about 3 or so inches longer and just boring. I love the length of this cut and I love that I get to style my hair everyday instead of putting it in a ponytail. Slade took this picture for me because I wasn't able to get a good one myself.

Ahh, the contagious yawn!

We are so grateful to have these two in our lives. Slade is very protective of Daisy and when she gets in trouble he says, "Oh, princess come here." He then will give her a hug and ask if she is okay. And, when she wakes up from her nap and cries out, he says, "Sweet pea is awake!" I know he gets those sayings from me, but it is so cute to have him say it. I hope this sibling love will continue for the rest of their lives!

A Few Things...

Skylar has been working so much lately that we haven't seen too much of him for the past few weeks, so it's always nice when a Sunday comes around that he doesn't have to be at the station and we get him for the whole day!
Skylar and Slade watching The Lion King together. Funny thing, that is how they normally sit while watching the tube, but they just happened to be next to eachother so I had to take a photo!

After I made it known that they were in the same position, Slade had Skylar copy him. "Just like me, Dad!"

Slade has stopped taking naps during the day. This is very hard for me because I had a nice routine down and was able to either sleep myself while the kids did, or was able to get a lot of things done. But, on this particular day, Slade decided he was tired and chose to take a nap on the edge of the carpet while I finished a few things in the kitchen. He slept there for two hours! I didn't move him because he's too heavy for me to pick up like that, being preggo and all...

My Little Actors

This is Daisy pretending she is dead! She frowns, and almost closes her eyes until someone notices her. It doesn't take much to make her "be alive" but when she does it in the car, she can stay like that for a long time! I always have to laugh when she makes this face. She's starting to do it for a lot of things!

Of course Slade has to have his tongue hanging out when he pretends he's dead. We have to tickle him or say we are going to kiss him for him to "be alive". I love that they are both so entertaining and I enjoy every moment with them.
