Pigalina- Viewer Discretion is Advised!

Skyar went Javelina hunting with his friend Cody this past weekend. I explained to Slade that a Javelina is a pig, so he calls them pigalina's. It is a pretty funny story of how he got it. If you don't like to see animals killed, I'm sorry, just don't look at the pictures!

Cody and Skylar posing with their pigs. I think Skylar is trying to stand as tall as he can because Cody is quite taller than him. Cody's grandparents live near by the hunting area, so they went there to clean out the pigs and take showers themselves.

Skylar posing with the pigs. His is on the left hand side I believe. They turned out to be almost exactly the same size. It looks like he is sitting in the cactus! I just noticed that.

This is how Skylar packed the Javelina back to the truck. I don't know if I would be able to have a dead pig hanging off my shoulder like a purse.

Okay, I should have switched these two pictures around, but below Cody is poking Skylar's javelina with an arrow. After Skylar shot it, it ran off and hid in these rocks! I guess they poked at it for a while to see if they could get it to come out, but didn't have any luck with that. So if you look at the above picture, you can see that Skylar has tied a rope around its neck and is pulling the javelina out that way. The poor thing was still alive as he was doing that but it was dead when he got it out! I cannot believe my husband could do such a thing! But, he is going to be a firefighter and will see gruesome stuff all the time. I guess you could get in trouble if you shoot more than one animal so that is why they went thru all the trouble of pulling it out. So, congrats to Skylar and Cody for a succesful hunt. Now Skylar wants me to put that dead pig in my crockpot and eat it for dinner! He has got to be crazy! I've eaten some weird stuff because of him, but this is where I draw the line.

By the way, the clicking sound that you hear on the video is from the Javelina. They click their teeth together when they are scared or in distress.

Let me know...

It's Friday night and my husband is gone Javelina hunting. He said he could have taken all of us with him, but he says I complain about being cold and alone in camp all day, so we get to stay home. That leaves me to put both kids to bed, entertain them all Saturday and then figure out how I am going to teach my CTR 6 class by myslef when I have a crawling 9 month old and a 2 year old that is being 'church potty-trained.' I know mothers have supermom power, but after having 7 kids from 4 months to 5 years old in my house today, I am feeling a little overwhelmed.

Anyway, what I am really wanting to know is what vehicle everybody drives and if they would recommend it for me... We will be needing a new vehicle by fall, but we really don't know what to get. No, I'm not pregnant, but want to be... We will need something that holds more than five people, but no more than 8 :) I know a lot of you probably don't drive anything bigger than a 5 passenger car, but if you know of someone who drives something bigger please let me know what they think about it. It would be easier getting feedback from all of you, rather than testdriving everything out there. I'm not too excited about a minivan, but not totally against it. Thanks!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year ! I hope you all have a wonderful 2008!

Remember how Christmas Day was super windy? Well, it was out here anyway. The day after Christmas I went outside and took pictures of all the tumbleweeds between our house and the neighbor's house. They live on the corner, so they got a whole bunch! I've never seen that many tumbleweeds at one time. This is my neighbors house. Crazy, huh? They had their vehicle parked on the driveway earlier, so it stopped the tumleweeds from coming into our front yard. Skylar ended up cleaning it up for them anyway.

This past Saturday Skylar and I went up flying with a friend of ours. We went up to Skylar's hunting area (yes another hunt) to get the lay of the land. He will be hunting Javelina this time. Skylar ended up flying THE WHOLE TIME! He took off, flew around and landed the plane! Our friend just told him what to do. I was in the back holding on for dear life, but he did a great job! I was surprised that is was so smooth. Anyway, this is a picture of Four Peaks and it has snow on it! It was so pretty!

This is the backside of Four Peaks. It had tons of snow! I love mountains with snow on them.

Of course I had to show everyone the 'S'!
