It's Friday night and my husband is gone Javelina hunting. He said he could have taken all of us with him, but he says I complain about being cold and alone in camp all day, so we get to stay home. That leaves me to put both kids to bed, entertain them all Saturday and then figure out how I am going to teach my CTR 6 class by myslef when I have a crawling 9 month old and a 2 year old that is being 'church potty-trained.' I know mothers have supermom power, but after having 7 kids from 4 months to 5 years old in my house today, I am feeling a little overwhelmed.
Anyway, what I am really wanting to know is what vehicle everybody drives and if they would recommend it for me... We will be needing a new vehicle by fall, but we really don't know what to get. No, I'm not pregnant, but want to be... We will need something that holds more than five people, but no more than 8 :) I know a lot of you probably don't drive anything bigger than a 5 passenger car, but if you know of someone who drives something bigger please let me know what they think about it. It would be easier getting feedback from all of you, rather than testdriving everything out there. I'm not too excited about a minivan, but not totally against it. Thanks!

I absolutely love! my honda minivan. I had an SUV first and it was so hard to get the infant car seat in and out. Now i can open the doors with the push of a button which is a must when you have groceries or are holding crying children, and you never have to worry about hitting the car beside you in the parking lot when you open the door. The Odessey is so smooth and we have had no problems with it in 5 years. At first I was so hesitant at getting a minivan, but now I am so glad that I did. Let me know what you end up getting! and I want to hear a baby announcement soon!
Girly~ You know you're doomed to mini-van-dom!!! If you get something else you're not allowed to be in my club!
I hope you were able to survive this weekend as a single mom. I'm sure everything went great because I know that you are a great mom! I don't have any advice as to what vehicle you should look into, but let me know what you look at and what you liked and didn't like because Brandon wants me to get a new vehicle this summer. Mine is good, but it's takes forever to cool down, and Brandon is worried about it being too hot for the baby. (He is pretty funny!)
ok so I am so not a minivan person either but my sister Kelyn got a Toyota Sienna(I think its a 2007 but I am not sure) But oh my gosh I love it! It holds 8 people and the cargo space is awesome! It drives so nice and I actually like the look. If and when we can ever afford a new car I really hope we can get that! Isnt that what Kayci got? Does she not like it or does she? You should totally look into it. But I hope everything is going great for you and I love your new blog background. Lets seriously plan something and just get together. Slade and Brayton would love it I think:) Talk to you later!
We are in desperate need of a bigger car, too! I havent even tried to see if both car seats fit in the back with Bastien's toddler seat as well! (HOpefully they fit!)
But we were looking at used Honda Pilots. They're 7 passenger and theyre not huge SUV's.(And theyre pretty cars!:) I think the used ones (2003-04) run from like 10-20 grand. Theyre on autotrader.com..Good luck!
It's just me and Scott and we have Honda Pilot and LOVE it! It easily fits 5 but can hold 8! The best part is that it is not a minivan. I am not really a fan of those.
My friends have a Pacifica that seats at least 6, I do believe you can get it with 2 more seats. She loves it, I think it's awesome, and I think you should check it out.
Good post. I might have to post something like this real soon. We are also in need of a car, but want a smaller car for Nate. We have a Honda Pilot, and LOVE it. We have had no problems, and it holds 8. I always have the back seats folded down completely, but they pop up super easily when you need them. It is a 2003, so I am sure that they are a lot nicer now, but good luck.
Hi Kari, its ashley fuller... I didn't know you blogged!! so I hope you don't mind me being nosy! :) I love our Hoe, but the gas mileage isn't the greatest... If you are looking into something a little smaller I would look into the Nissan Pathfinder or Honda Pilot... they both have that third row of seats that fold flat and much easier on the gas... and they look good. Or you could just give in to be in Kayci's club-- that's SO enticing!?! lol
oh.. i forgot to tell/ask you to leave me your email address on the site below and I will add you to view our blog!

Nissan just started making a car called that rogue that sounds intriguing. It looks like a murano, but is a bit smaller, cheaper, and gets decent gas mileage. But then again, I don't know if you can beat a minivans overall price and gas mileage. As for being left at home, Tate and I get left at home when Chris goes to team roping events. He says that we complain about the cold, being bored, etc. And he's right, I guess. It is cold, and I'm alone most of the day. So what i'm trying to say is I understand how you feel. I should probably just go because it always ends up being more fun than staying home by myself.
