Taylor

For Pioneer Day in July, the kids and I drove up to Taylor and met Skylar's family for a little reunion. It rained a lot, but we took advantage of the sun while it was out. Grandma Stock bought all the granddaughters matching tutu's and shirts to wear for fun. They looked so cute!!

They are showing off their twirling moves! They are all pretty close in age besides Maylee, but she still keeps up pretty good.

Slade riding his horse, Shooter. So far each of the grandkids has a horse named after them besides Maylee. Shooter was Slade's nickname Skylar gave him while in the womb because we found out he was a boy at 13 weeks :)
Slade, Kinley and Daisy having fun in the barn.

It was a fun trip, although short, it was nice to see Skylar's family again.

Hamsters

Our first pet! We haven't had a pet in our home since Skylar brought home a rattlesnake and named it Fluffy. No joke, but I made him get rid of it when Slade was born. I was going to start school soon, so I was trying to think of ways to keep the kids occupied while I was doing school work and the hamsters turned out to be the perfect pets for them! We have two of them, hopefully both male, and they have been named Slade and Daisy. Maylee doesn't have one yet but if one of the males turns out to be female, she just might get one... The kids love them! I don't let them out of the cage often, or really ever, because my kids are mean to them but they are fun to watch!

June

Back in June, Slade and Daisy did swim lessons with Jennifer Johnson. Jennifer and I grew up in the same ward in Gilbert and is was so much fun having my kids take her class. She is wonderful! Slade can swim all by himself now and Daisy can as well, but she is still a little timid. They loved it!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to those Father's in my life!

My dad, Grandpa Barnes. He taught me how to work hard and to love the Lord.

Skylar's dad, Grandpa Stock. He has a tough outer shell but is definitely a softy around his grandkids!

And Skylar. What a wonderful father he was! He had a great example. Love these men!

6 Months

Today marks 6 months from when Skylar passed away. We miss him so much. We are all doing well though. My favorite times are when the kids remember something they did with Skylar and then they explain to me where he is and when we will see him again. I love it.

May. What? Its now June?!!

Wow. May flew by! I have a lot to post about from May but for those of you just waiting and waiting, it might have to wait until after girls camp. YEP. I'm going to girls camp. I am excited about it :) It will be a different experience for me going as a leader rather than a young women, for sure! I also get to celebrate my 6th wedding anniversary at camp. Ironic? I think so. Just like the ant infestation I had in my bathroom the night I got home from Skylar's viewing. Ha! Good times. I'm happy that I made it through the month of May. I was looking over my calendar and realized that I had something going on everyday of the month and most of the days had about three things. Even Sundays, with meetings or family gatherings, I was busy! However, I do enjoy being busy and I have a feeling that my life will just get busier as my kids grow up. Speaking of being busy, my sweet Daisy is painting her legs with milk right now. At least she has stayed in the kitchen, right? It could be worse. Oh wait, she moved on and is trying to rip open her pillow with her teeth. No joke. I love that little girl, she is quite entertaining! June brings a lot of mixed emotions for me, so bring it on! It marks the sixth month, our sixth anniversary and Father's Day. It also brings girls camp, a trip to California and lots of fun with family and friends. So this is LIFE...
