Lots to Blog About

My Maylee
Every time Daisy gets in trouble and is crying, she says that she needs, "My Maylee!" She will give her a kiss or a hug and then be fine. Maylee found her thumb a week ago Wednesday and since then she sleeps MUCH longer at night!

She is almost four months old and is finally growing out of some preemie clothes. Yay! She has rolled from her back to her belly once, and from her belly to her back three times as of right now. She is a very happy baby!

Slade scratched his ear somehow and decided it needed a band aid. He applied it all by himself.

FUN RICE! I was desperate to find an activity for the kids to do during the really hot time of the day, and I found this! It's called Fun Rice and it kept the kids busy for over an hour the first time they played with it.
1 cup rice
1 tsp. rubbing alcohol
food coloring
Mix together and let rice dry. Then, have fun!
I let the kids do the food coloring, so it does rub off on their hands a little bit. We made funnels, used utensils, cups and whatever else we could find to play with it.

Making her pink fun rice.
He had to have blue, like Spiderman.

Daisy showing off her new Tinkerbell hat!

Slade chose Spiderman, of course.
Our HOA hosted a Community Block Party on the 16th, and it was SO much fun! The kids loved it especially and it was nice to visit with neighbors. Skylar had to work but I took the kids anyway. Having two sisters in the same neighborhood really has its benefits!
Slade and Kleven showing off their balloon swords and holsters.

Daisy would eat all day long if I let her. She was given a few snacks from a neighbor and decided she wanted them all for herself. Instead of sharing with Lynnlee, she tried to hurry and stuff them all in her mouth!
The Rural Metro Fire Dept. showed up and squirted the kids with water. It makes me sad that Slade will someday be as big as those boys.
Slade loved getting sprayed by the water!
Daisy, not so much! She and I went to take pictures of Slade in the water but when the first shot of water came out, it got us!

They had this Velcro thingy too and Slade gave it a try!

So did Uncle Chris! He was trying to get all the way upside down, but that is the best he could do which was pretty neat.

Slade spent most of his time on this bouncy obstacle course.

I love his face in this picture!

RaNdoM:
This is pretty typical of what Daisy looks like after dinner. Food all over her face and usually in her hair, but this time she opted for milk in the hair instead. We have no idea why she can't eat normally.

My Favorite Holiday's

I just turned 25 years old on May 11th. I did have a sad moment when I realized that I am officially in my "mid-twenties" but it was replaced with happiness as I thought of my wonderful husband and kids. Growing up, 25 seemed so old and far away, but it came quickly and I'm really enjoying myself!

Marlee's birthday was the 9th, (sis in-law) so my mother in-law took us out to dinner at Costa Vida last Wednesday to celebrate our birthdays! My other two sister in-laws, Erin and Lyndsay, joined us and we had so much fun! Costa Vida was delicious of course, and then we wandered over to Bath & Body Works. While we were there, Erin introduced me to the BEST lip gloss EVER and before we knew it, we were headed to Target to buy us all some! Its the Physicians Formula Lip Plumper lip gloss and it is truly awesome. See how big my lips got!?!

*The lip gloss does not affect your nose, mine is just big*
We all had a good time that night and it was nice to go out. Thank you Erin for the amazing lip gloss discovery and for getting it for me :)

For Mother's Day, we headed to my parents house to celebrate the holiday, my birthday, and talk to my brother Bryan who is on a mission in Australia. (He gets home on June 16th!)

Skylar's cousins wife, Camille, made me a really cute cake for my birthday and even dropped it off at my parents house! We all loved it! Thank you so much Camille!

Kendyl hand-made this card and gave it to me for my birthday! I told her I wanted that shirt and she went and ordered it for me! She is amazing! I can't wait for it to come!

Kayci, the jewelry maker, made me this beautiful necklace that has the birthstones of my kids on it. I love it. Its so simple, yet sparkly and its perfect for me. Thank you!

My good friend, and neighbor, Kristi, brought over these flowers along with a hilarious music card. They are beautiful! Thank you Kristi!

Of course my wonderful husband took me out to dinner at Olive Garden (my fav) and we did a little shopping afterward! My mother and mother in-law gave me cash for my birthday and I had to spend a little of it. I tried getting a picture of both of us in the car but I ended up having 17 chins, so I settled for separate pictures. Thanks Skylar! He's pretty terrific and made sure I had a special day.

I LOVE SHOPPING!

I usually hate going to the grocery store and draining my checking account with the ridiculous prices that we pay for groceries these days. BUT, I started Coupon Sense again a few weeks ago and today, I came home from the grocery store HAPPY! That doesn't happen often. It doesn't look like a lot of groceries, but wait until you see what I paid! Here's the breakdown:

Gallon Milk- $.99 each (2)
Pillsbury Brownie Mix- $.50 each (6)
Steamfresh Veggies/Rice- FREE (6)
Lawry's Marinade-$.50 (6)
Quaker Mini Cakes-FREE (3)
CapriSun Sunrise-$.77 each (3) -Little secret~if you have a coupon for these, the cashier said it will work with the regular kind as well.
Frosted Mini Wheats 24 oz-$1.37 each (3)
Angel Soft toilet paper-FREE (3 pkg. of 4 rolls)
McCormick seasonings-FREE (3)

I also bought green lettuce for $1.49 not on sale and Kroger veggie spray for $1. Total bill for everything $17.89. Saved $88.34!! I saved $25.50 of that just by using coupons. The rest was from using the Fry's VIP card. I love Fry's. They have wonderful sales, double coupons all the time, send me store coupons in the mail and you can download coupons from their website straight to your VIP card. Its amazing. I got lucky with the milk because it wasn't advertised but they are having their gallon milk $.99 each, limit 2, until Tuesday. If any of you are interested in learning about Coupon Sense, please let me know! I know Wal Mart is cheap sometimes and you can ad match, but they don't double coupons so you won't get the same savings. HAPPY SHOPPING!

Gone Fishin'

Friday afternoon, we headed up to Saguaro Lake with the Boretsky's to do some fishing. They brought along their pontoon boat and after much frustration and laughing, we were finally off to the fishing spot! (can I say, "Kill Switch!!" That was a LOL moment for sure.) Here's a few photos of us having fun!

Cale and Daisy. Engagement picture, maybe?? heehee

Momma and Maylee.

Goofball Daisy. She was so excited to be on that boat!

Skylar and Slade doing a little fishing...

Slade could stay out there fishing forEVER.

He can fish with his eyes closed!

First catch of the day!

Slade's first catch!

And second one...

I caught one too! I always end up with the smallest fish, but I'm happy I at least got one!

He didn't get any kisses from me after that!

Pure trouble. Look at that face.

Waiting for another fish to bite.
We all had a lot of fun! Daisy wouldn't stay still long enough to hold a fishing pole, so she wandered around the boat getting into everything she could. She would give me a heart attack every time she looked over the edge of the boat. I know she would much rather be swimming with the fish and that would be okay if she knew how to swim! Slade enjoyed it so much that he didn't want to leave. I couldn't tell if he enjoyed fishing more, or playing with the night crawlers that were used as bait. What a boy! He had a really good time. Skylar caught several fish which made him happy. We had a lot of fun and can't wait for the next trip!

Maylee's Blessing Photos and Dr's Appts

Maylee had her two month appointment today and weighed in at 8 lbs 13oz (6th percent) and 20.5 inches (1st percent). The doctor was happy she was finally on the charts! Yay! He also felt her belly button and said it will most likely have to be fixed with surgery. That won't happen until she reaches about 1 year but hopefully by then she won't need it. He said she is doing great!

Newborn size
2 month size

Daisy had her two year check up today as well and weighed in at 25 lbs and 33 inches tall. That put her in the 28th percentile for both but she has a head circumference in the 50th %. She had her last shot until Kindergarten and she didn't even cry! She was actually excited to get a poke-poke today and even watched the nurse do it. She is most definitely like her father. Doctor said she looks great!

Maylee's Blessing Photo Shoot
I had a hard time finding a blessing dress to fit her because everything was too big. My mom had made a newborn size dress for her but she disappeared in it! So, we went to Ross and found a women's white dress that she cut up and used a doll size pattern to get it small enough. It turned out beautiful! She also made pantaloons and a slip! That is talent! Maylee decided to sleep during the photo shoot but it did make for some cute pictures! Thanks again, Kendyl!
