Motherhood...what your mother didn't tell you

Daisy had the flu these past few days and I have some fun stories to share. If you have a queasy stomach, do not read on!
Monday was quite the day! I'll just tell you that I am tired of the smell of vomit. One incident happened quite early and I will never forget it. Daisy had just thrown up on the kitchen floor and Slade came running to me telling me that a big poo poo was coming. He still needs help with that and if you don't hurry, you'll be sorry, so I threw a towel on the vomit and rushed Slade to the toilet. I told him to tell me when he was done and went back to clean up Daisy. He called for me, and right as I walked into the bathroom, he was climbing off the toilet and his foot slipped and went straight into the water and onto his poop! I threw him in the tub, trying not to throw up myself. Meanwhile, poor Daisy was crying in the kitchen still covered with vomit.
I thought that by Wednesday, Daisy would be all better and back to her happy self. Well, she was, except for the fact that she still has diarhea. The first thing of the morning was me on the phone asking my mom what would get green poop out of the carpet?!? She was standing up, pooped, and it ran down her leg onto the floor. I didn't notice it was on her leg or the floor until after I picked her up. Now my great room smells like white vinegar. Later, she had another horrible diaper but this time it only leaked out of the front of the diaper so it only soiled her onesie. I had her on the changing table and while I reached down for another diaper, she started pooping again! This time it shot across the room hitting the curtains and the carpet and the laundry hamper. By the way, this is in Slade's room. It now smells like vinegar as well. I am so ready for Skylar to be home and take care of anymore accidents! Watch, once he gets home, the kids will be angels and there won't be anymore accidents. It always happens that way, doesn't it?

Update Overload!!

I haven't posted for a little while, so reader beware! We did some fun stuff these past two weeks so there are lots of pictures! Slade has been quite the photographer lately, and took this picture of me and Daisy. I had to help him make sure we were in the picture, but he did a great job!
I was eating lunch with Slade and out of the blue he said, "mom, take a picture of me." And this is what he wanted a picture of...
Apparently Slade pays attention during church because he wanted to lead the music while Skylar played the piano and they took turns singing I Am A Child of God.
Our beautiful baby girl ready for church!

Grandma Stock came to town for a week to babysit Bostyn while her parents went on an awesome anniversary vacation. We met Erin, Kinley, Grandma and Bostyn at the park and had a good time.
Daisy with cousin Bostyn on the squirrel thingy. What are those things called anyway?
Daisy and cousin Kinley going down the slide. For some reason, Daisy was scared to go down and started crying.
Hooray for pigtails! Her hair is barely long enough to put in pigtails, but she is so darn cute with them. They make her look all grown up, I think.
Slade wanting the camera to take pictures of random things. I find several pictures of his feet and the carpet after I let him use the camera.

We also had the opportunity to go to the Zoo with our friends and neighbors, the Boretsky's. This is just a random picture of the people I love the most in this world.
Here we are! What a great picture. The kids got to sit on a huge frog and it looks like Slade thinks that it was pretty cool.
This one is out of order, but Grandma Stock gave Daisy a stroller and she absolutely loves it! Well, so does Slade...
Once again, scared to go down the slide.
While at the park, Slade made a new friend! It was funny because Slade's middle name is Hunter and this little boy's name was Hunter Slade! It was fun to see both of them turn when I yelled at Slade and she yelled at Hunter!

Cool man Slade at the Zoo with his new shades...
Skylar and Slade watching the Giraff eating his lunch.
I asked Daisy to smile, but I got this instead!
Kristi, me and Daisy watching the very human-like orangutans play.
Oh how sweet! Cale would rush to Daisy's aid whenever she made a noise to make sure she was okay. Sorry boys! She's taken! We've already arranged their marriage.

Having Fun!

Daisy has been quite the adventurer these days and loves to go outside with Slade. She used to just sit by the back door and watch him play, but not anymore!

Slade used to be terrified of the vacuum but now loves to help me push it along and he has figured out how the hose works. He thinks it's hilarious and Daisy does too, but she doesn't like it to touch her. His cheek turned so red!! (don't worry, that's a fairly new vacuum so its pretty clean)

Daisy had her birthday yesterday and we had a small party for her. We decided to do seperate parties for the kids when my inlaws aren't able to make it down for their actual birthday, so we will have one with them next month. Skylar blew out the candle before she could grab it because of course she went right for it. She was such a lady when she ate her brownie. I did brownies so it wouldn't be so messy, but she carefully took a piece off and ate it so nicely...

Boys Will Be Boys

The other day Slade was playing outside and all of a sudden ran inside and told me that he had to go potty. I started walking to the bathroom to help him out, but he ran back outside yelling, "Potty in the dirt! Potty in the dirt!" I walked toward the backdoor and this is what I found... He had already pulled his underwear down and had peed in the dirt! You see, Skylar lets him do this when he is home and under his supervision but I tell Slade that he needs to go potty in the toilet when mommy helps him. I don't believe it was a good idea to let him potty outside, because he now wants to do it everywhere there is dirt or rocks. It's really a good time when he wants to pee in the grocery store parking lot.

After he was done, I asked him to put his underwear back on, and he told me, "no, mom." He stood there swinging his arms until I did it for him. We all want our children to learn to be independent but now I am thinking he has too much freedom...don't think anyone is going to want to play in our backyard after reading this.

Easter

I hope everybody had a wonderful Easter! The pictures got jumbled around so they are out of order. We went to the Smithson Family Easter Breakfast (Skylar's side) on Saturday and the kids loved it! This is Slade running to find some eggs. The bigger kids were so nice and gave the younger ones some of their eggs at the end.
Showing off his loot.
Grandma Stock gave him this egg for Easter and when you place it in warm water for 12-48 hours, it hatches into a chick! Right when he woke up the past few days, he would check on it and would have to "see" it. (Meaning, hold it in his hands)
Of course Daisy had to cut her nose on Easter morning! She was playing with a toy block and must have face planted on it.
Daisy is working on walking, but not a pro yet, so I had Slade hold her hands to keep her from trying to crawl away. A friend from down the street used to work at TJ Max and bought these outfits for them! Slade's suit was so cute! He wore a light blue shirt with a blue and brownish tie. His cousins Kleven and Ezra had the same matching suit. Daisy had a flower on the front of hers, but they wouldn't face the camera! More pictures of them in their outfits will be posted later.

This was at the park again. She went down the slide a few times, but decided climbing up the slide was much more fun.
This was her first time in this kind of swing and she wouldn't stop giggling! Notice her pink jellies? I love them!
Slade and Daisers (according to Slade) going down the slide together. He was telling her to let go of the side so they could go down!
Skylar's Aunt was trying to take his picture, so he put his bucket on his head to hide from her!
Once again, a little shy, so the bucket went back on his head. This is right before they ran to find eggs. He is such a goofball...Where do you think that came from??

They are my life!

I feel like I blog about my kids a lot, but they are my life! Well, here they are again!

Slade found a bottle of baby lotion in my room and put it on his face and in his hair. I'm not sure what the tongue thing is about, but every picture I took of him it was sticking out.

Crazy Daisy! I think the picture took her by surprise.

My thumb sucking babies! I have never had to fuss with pacifiers because they have always popped their thumbs in. Although, we will be paying for braces, I love it for now. Slade is getting too old, but I am going to have to cut off his thumbs before he stops sucking them.

We went to my sister in-laws house Tuesday night for dinner and on the way home, we saw a huge plume of smoke and followed it into a neighborhood. My husband, being a firefighter in training, wanted to check it out, but so did all of Queen Creek it seemed. The flames were so tall that it looked like the whole house was on fire also. I drove back by it the next morning to see the damage and it was only the SUV and trailer! I'm glad it didn't turn out to be the house. How aweful!
