I had my first DR.'s appointment yesterday and it went well! The girl that takes your blood pressure and stuff (I don't know what they are called but I know they are not nurses...Meg, help me out) tried to find the heartbeat of the baby, but couldn't find it. My DR. said not to worry because it was still early in the pregnancy and after he did the wonderful exam we all love, he said everything looks great. With my other pregnancies, they were able to find the heartbeat with no problem, so of course I was a little worried. They had me take a urine sample when I first got there and then sent me downstairs to the lab for blood work. Of course they wanted a urine sample too, so I had to sit out in the lobby and chug a bottle of water so I could do it. I've gotten so used to being pricked that getting my blood taken doesn't faze me anymore and I even watched this time! Although this appointment was pretty uneventful, I am scheduled for an ultrasound on the 29th to confirm how far long I am and to measure the baby. By the way, I'm 12 weeks today! I even received the wonderful gift bag you get on your first OB appointment. Seeing how it's my third one, I haven't even opened the bag yet to see what I got. I'm assuming it's all the same 'ole samples and brochures and books on expecting a baby. Can't wait for my next appointment!

Glad everything went good. It seems to make it more real once you go to the dr.
Congrats, Kari! You're right- it must be in the water! ;)
Ya when I thought I was almost 16 weeks with Raylee and I went to the Dr. he couldnt find the heartbeat either so I had to get an ultrasound and thats when I found out I was only 12 weeks. So my Dr. couldnt find the heartbeat at 12 weeks either and he seriously bruised my stomach when he was trying to find the heart beat. It was ridiculous.
Congrats on baby #3! That is so exciting. Hope you feel better soon and that everything is fine with the baby. At least you have a girl and boy already, you lucky girl!
don't feel bad i am almost 17 weeks and still have not heard the heartbeat- i've seen it but not heard it :(
